PROJECT DETAILS

An SSL certificate is a digital file that authenticates a website’s identity and enables an encrypted connection. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, a security protocol that creates an encrypted link between a web server and a web browser.

SSL Certificates offer a fast, convenient, and reliable way to secure your website and your customers, as well as brand integrity. Without SSL Certificates, site visitors and customers are at higher risk of having their data stolen, and without encryption, website’s security is vulnerable to phishing scams, data breaches, and many other threats.

Ultimately, SSL Certificates build a secure environment for both visitors and site owners.

The “Wildcard” product offers SSL Certificates for unlimited number of sub-domains, for any one domain. The company wanted to eliminate this product as a stand-alone product and instead integrate it into other products as an additional feature.

But what happens when a customer wants to purchase, renew, replace, or revoke a wildcard certificate product that no longer exists?

  • Collaborated with Product Manager to clarify requirements and business priorities
  • Performed research and exploration of how other companies handle similar products
  • Performed gap analysis of other products that are candidates to be replacement products where the wildcard will be added as a feature
  • Created new tasks flow diagram
  • Created interactive prototypes of UI screens to demonstrate new changes
  • Collaborated with UX Manager to confirm new flows
